Odudu is an architectural designer and artist based in Toronto. His work cultivates a fluid position between the fields of art, sculpture and experiential design. He is consumed by the relationship between people and space. With a core ethos rooted in compassion and the exploration of our connection to self, to space and spirit, he draws inspiration from nature’s forms to realize physical and digital spaces, experiences and objects. Having worked as an architectural designer since 2020, he has refined his expertise in the design of bespoke homes, public spaces and site specific artistic interventions, infusing each project with careful design and cultural resonance.
In 2023, Odudu and his team were selected by the City of Toronto to design a public park at 254 King Street East, Toronto, in collaboration with Janet Rosenberg & Studio. The successful design proposal led by Odudu and artist Oluseye Ogunlesi is informed by a community-led vision to celebrate and commemorate the history, presence, diversity and future of black communities in the Moss park neighborhood. He has presented his work at the Department of Architecture at the University of Toronto and OCAD University. He has a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Covenant University, Nigeria and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. He is currently teaching a course on the fundamentals of architecture at the Nia Arts Centre, Canada's first Black arts centre. He was the recipient of the International Prize Scholarship presented by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada in 2019.
